Who We Are

Varnell Church exists to serve Jesus, and all are warmly welcomed to take part in the incredible things God is doing through this congregation. Our vision is to be an anchor in the community, finding joy in inviting everyone to join us as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Varnell Church has been a vital part of northern Whitfield County, GA, since 1860. Originally located in downtown Varnell, the church moved to its current location in 1985. Known throughout the community for its commitment to missions and faithful prayer, Varnell Church is a beacon of hope and service.

In 2024, we entered an exciting new chapter by joining the Global Methodist Church, reaffirming our dedication to spreading the gospel of Christ in a biblical and Spirit led way as we live out our true Wesleyan heritage and beliefs.

We offer vibrant children’s and youth programs and encourage everyone to connect with one or more of our small groups that meet both on and off campus throughout the week. Our worship is centered on the glory of God and embracing the heart of God in every aspect of our services.

Mission outreach is at the heart of who we are. Varnell Church is proud to host the largest food pantry in northern Whitfield County, serving those in need with love and compassion. We also operate our “Praise and Play” preschool, providing education and care for young children. Beyond local ministry, we support full-time missionaries and send out short-term mission teams to share the love of Christ around the world.

We warmly invite you to join us in worship! Services are held in person at 8:45 AM and 11:00 AM, with our 11:00 AM service also livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. Whether online or in person, you’ll find a welcoming community dedicated to following Jesus and making His love known.
